BMSS 2026: Call for Student Assistants

The role will involve assisting at the registration desk and supporting delegates and exhibitors throughout the meeting. The workload will be scheduled to enable necessary poster attendance and, where possible, some lecture attendance.
To be eligible, candidates must be current student members of the BMSS and be available to work at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, from 8:30am on Tuesday 8th of September 2026 through to 4pm on Thursday 10th September 2026. Ideally, successful applicants will also have submitted an abstract to present their own research at the meeting; however, this is not mandatory.
In return you will receive complimentary meeting registration, a ticket to the conference dinner, B&B for up to 3 nights, and travel expenses (2nd class rail fares, own car @ 45p per mile, parking).
Applications should be submitted as a letter outlining your suitability for the role and including details of your current stage of study, along with your supervisor’s name and contact details.
