Accessibility & Inclusion
The BMSS is committed to facilitating the full participation of all delegates at the conference. Please find some information on accessibility and inclusion matters below:
- Most events (talks in Oral Tracks B and C, posters, the exhibition, and catering) will take place on the ground floor, i.e. on a single level. However, the Theatre (Oral Track A) is accessed from the first floor. There is step-free access to the first floor. Rootes Building (Conference Dinner) has step-free access.
- Male, female, disabled and gender-neutral toilets are available in the Arts Centre. Rootes Building (Conference Dinner) has male, female and disabled toilets.
- A hearing loop is available in all the lecture rooms. All delegates (in-person and digital-only registrations) will have access to the recorded talks after the conference.
- A 'Quiet Space' will be available for delegates to access if required. Please ask at the Registration Desk for details.
- A private, bookable room will be available which can be used (e.g.) for prayer, breastfeeding etc. Please contact the Registration Desk at the event, or email admin@bmss.org.uk, and we will endeavour to meet your needs.
- Vegetarian food is provided as standard at lunches and the Inclusive Conference Supper but other dietary requirements (e.g. vegan, gluten-free) will be served from the Special Dietary Requirements table in the Butterworth Hall.
- Alcohol-free drinks will be available at the Dai Games Symposium, LGBTQ+ pre-dinner social event, and conference dinner.
