Awards & Honours
Aston Medal
The Aston Medal is the Society's prestigious scientific award, given to individuals deserving special recognition by reason of their outstanding contributions to knowledge in the biological, chemical, engineering, mathematical, medical, or physical sciences relating directly to mass spectrometry.
BMSS Medal
This very occasional award recognises sustained contributions by individual members of the BMSS to the development and delivery of MS, primarily within the UK, enabling education and increasing awareness of MS and its utility in science.
Life Membership
Life membership of the British Mass Spectrometry Society is a prestigious award given to members of the Society who have made a significant contribution to the practice of mass spectrometry in the U.K. or, perhaps more importantly in this case, to the Society itself.
Barber Prize
The BMSS awards the Barber Prize to the best early career scientist's oral presentation in honour of Mickey Barber who was known for his strong dislike in giving oral presentations!
B. N. Green Prize
The BMSS awards the B.N. Green Prize to the best early career scientist's flash oral presentation in honour of Brian N. Green
Bordoli Prize
The BMSS awards the Bordoli Prize to the best early career scientist's poster presentation in honour of Bob Bordoli
Delegates' Choice Prize
The BMSS Delegates' Choice Poster Prize is awarded to the best poster at the Society's Annual Meeting, determined by a ballot of members in attendance at the meeting
